Former Juventus midfielder Giancarlo Marocchi discussed Inter’s important 3-1 win over Cagliari earlier today whilst speaking with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia after the game.

“There was the risk of drama after Cagliari’s goal. At home, Inter may be convinced by what Conte says, that it’s them against the world, but it is absolutely not true.

“We would all like a team that fights to win the Scudetto until the very end. For me, they are the favorites.”

Inter’s win over the Rossoblu sees them return to second in the league table after 11 games, with 24 points, two behind rivals AC Milan who face Parma this evening.

The Milanese club’s next game is vitally important, a Wednesday night clash against Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli, who are currently in third and are only one point behind Antonio Conte’s side.

Both teams will be looking for the three points as they look to stay on the heels of Stefano Pioli’s Rossoneri.

Conte’s side needed a strong performance against Cagliari this afternoon after their dismal display against Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk earlier this week.

The Nerazzurri only needed a win to qualify for the Round of 16, but failed to find the back of the net and dropped out of the competition bottom of their group.
