Former Juventus midfielder Giancarlo Marocchi discussed Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen’s performance in the 3-1 win over Cagliari earlier today whilst speaking with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia.

“If you give me some money and make me the coach of a team, I would buy Eriksen right away. There is no question about him as a player, but there are contexts in which a player does not work.

“It’s useless to waste time trying to fix things.”

The 28-year-old Eriksen, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, seems destined to leave the Milanese club in the upcoming January transfer window, with a possible return to the Premier League or move to Paris Saint-Germain on a swap deal with Leandro Paredes on the cards.

The Danish midfielder, who joined from Tottenham in this year’s January transfer window in a deal worth around €20 million, has made 12 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 373 minutes.

In that time, he has struggled to remain visible and has not contributed to a goal.

Inter’s important 3-1 win against Cagliari earlier today was needed as the squad needed to perform well after their painful early exit from the Champions League earlier this week.
