Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella discussed the Nerazzurri’s 3-1 win over Cagliari earlier today in an interview with Italian broadcaster Inter TV after the game.

“It’s certainly one of the most difficult places to come in Serie A. At the beginning we struggled, we couldn’t score goals, but then we were good at believing until the end and bringing home the result.”

He commented on his strong performance against the Rossoblu, as well as his goal.

“There was happiness but a little dampened by a pinch of sorrow, but now I’m an Inter player and I’m happy to have scored and to have managed to bring home the win.”

Finally, Barella spoke about the squad’s reaction after their incredibly painful early elimination from the Champions League earlier this week.

“There will always be difficult moments, there was last year and there will be this year. We have to be good at overcoming them, doing what the coach asks of us and doing what we know how to do, which is to win.”

The 23-year-old Barella, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2024, has made 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1304 minutes.

In that time, he has scored 1 goals and provided 5 assists, being a core part of coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system.

Inter are currently second in the league table after 11 games, sitting on 24 points, two behind rivals and league leaders AC Milan, who play Parma this evening.

Their next game is against Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli on Wednesday, a crucial clash considering the position of both teams in the league table.
