Italian journalist Sebastiano Vernazza thought Inter coach Antonio Conte’s decision to switch to four at the back during the game was a good decision, when discussing Inter’s 3-1 win over Cagliari on Twitter earlier today.

The Milanese club needed a strong response against the Rossoblu after their incredibly disappointing performance against Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk earlier this week.

Conte’s side just needed to beat their opponents to qualify for the Round of 16 of the Champions League, but came in last place after only reaching a 0-0 draw.

Inter fell behind against Cagliari and entered the second half 1-0 down, but found the strength to launch a devastating comeback, with the game ending 3-1.

The Nerazzurri are currently second in the league table after 11 games, sitting on 24 points, hot on the heels of rivals and league leaders AC Milan.

Vernazza discussed the game and Conte’s decisions in a tweet, saying:

“Anyway, Plan B exists and perhaps deserves to become Plan A. Against Fiorentina he switched to 4 at the back and overturned the result.

“Against Cagliari ditto but a 4-3-1-2, with Eriksen relieved of duties in the midfield, no?”
