Roma full back Leonardo Spinazzola discussed his failed move to Inter in the January transfer window in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.

“Since January, even in some interviews, I have been thankful for the failed move to Inter because it gave me an extra boost. I have changed various aspects of my physique too.”

The 27-year-old Italian full back, who is contracted to the Rossoneri until 2024, then touched on what he has changed.

“I changed my dentist, I do more exercise every day, tomorrow I’ll do muscle strengthening. I’ve changed a little bit of everything and now I have matches where I’m not tired, at 90 minutes I can still go on.”

The 27-year-old Spinazzola, who joined Roma in the summer of 2019 from Juventus, has made 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1145 minutes.

In that time, he has scored one goal and provided three assists, and played well in the Giallorossi’s 5-1 thrashing of Bologna.

Roma are now sixth in the league table after 11 games, sitting on 21 points, having won six and drawn three of those.

Inter’s first meeting with the Giallorossi is after the Christmas break, at the start of January.

The Nerazzurri are currently second in the league table after 11 games, having collected 24 points from seven wins and three draws.
