Arturo Vidal is to have his condition evaluated by Inter medical staff ahead of Wednesday’s Serie A match at home to Napoli according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Vidal’s condition will very much determine the composition of the Inter midfield against the Partenopei club at San Siro and in the event that Vidal is not in great enough condition to start then Christian Eriksen could well be handed another opportunity.

Inter manager Antonio Conte has made it clear that Stefano Sensi is not in the best condition and for this reason Eriksen stands a chance at retaining his place in the team if Vidal’s condition is not good enough.

Eriksen was given the rare chance to start in yesterday’s win over Cagliari and the report from the Rome based news outlet insists that he must be given consistent playtime – something he has never really been given ever since joining the club back in the most recent January transfer window.

The 28-year-old Danish national team player has struggled to live up to expectations during his time with Inter, with him having contributed just four goals and three assists in almost 40 appearances for the club.
