Italian Media Details Why Christian Eriksen’s Chances Of Playing For Inter Vs Napoli Hurt By Win Vs Cagliari

Inter’s comeback versus Cagliari coming once Christian Eriksen went off could impact his chances of playing versus Napoli on Wednesday night according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Il Giornale.

The Danish national team player was afforded the rare opportunity to start as Inter took on Cagliari away from home and whilst he did not play too badly, he was substituted around the hour mark.

Inter’s comeback began on the 77th minute with Nicolo Barella volleying home to make it level and minutes later Danilo D’Ambrosio put Inter ahead. Romelu Lukaku then rounded off the scoring with a goal in injury time.

The report goes on to explain that the fact Inter’s comeback came once Eriksen went off will allow Inter manager Antonio Conte to not field him against Napoli and he will not need too many justifications for doing so.

Had Eriksen scored and played a part in the comeback, he could have become a problem as far as Conte’s selection choices are concerned.
