Danilo D’Ambrosio has been one of the highest goal scoring defenders in Serie A since the 2012/13 season Inter have highlighted off the back of their win away to Cagliari yesterday afternoon.
Since the 2012/13 season, the Italian national team player is one of only four defenders to have scored 20 or more goals in Serie A with the other three defenders being Alessandro Florenzi (25), Gonzalo Rodríguez (22) and Leonardo Bonucci (21).
From 2015/16 onward, D’Ambrosio is in fact the second highest scoring defender in Serie A with 16 goals. Only his new teammate Aleksandar Kolarov has scored more as a defender with the Serbian having notched 17 goals.
Inter have also highlighted that D’Ambrosio has scored at least once every season since the 2014/15 season and his best goal scoring season came last term when he scored five although he is on course to beat that tally this season with him having scored three goals in 13 appearances so far.
