Real Madrid have joined the race to sign Sporting CP full back Nuno Mendes according to a report from Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The highly rated Portuguese under 21 national team representative is widely regarded as one of the best up and coming full backs around at the moment and there is no shortage of interest in him.

Real Madrid are interested in him as they seek a long term replacement for ageing full back Marcelo but are far from alone in courting him.

This specific report states that Juventus, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool are all also interested in signing him. Whilst various other reports have linked him with potential moves to both Inter and AC Milan.

This season the 18-year-old, who is contracted to Liga NOS side Sporting CP until 2025, has made 11 appearances across all competitions to date and in his time on the park, which totals just over 900 minute, he has scored a single goal.
