Everything suggests that Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez will bid farewell to Atalanta in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

There are various options on the table with regard to Gomez’s future at the Bergamo club, who will more than likely meet with his agent Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Riso over the weekend to understand how a possible departure could occur.

Currently no negotiations have started with regard to a sale but the report from the Milan based news outlet does state that Inter, AC Milan and Roma have all taken a look whilst Gomez’ compatriot Angel Di Maria is pushing for him to join him in France at Paris Saint-Germain.

Gomez, who is Atalanta’s captain, has no interest in entertaining offers from clubs outside of Europe and either wants to remain in Bergamo as a protagonist or at a leading club in Europe.
