Inter and AC Milan are two of many clubs to have shown an interest in Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez with his Atalanta future up in the air according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The Argentine appears destined to leave the Bergamo based club and could be more tempting and cheaper for Inter to sign than his Atalanta teammate Ruslan Malinovskyi.

Before strengthening their squad, Inter must make sales. Christian Eriksen, Radja Nainggolan and Matias Vecino all appear to have no future at Inter whilst Andrea Pinamonti and Ivan Perisic could both also leave the Nerazzurri club next month.

If the three midfielders leave, at least one will be brought in. Inter manager Antonio Conte dreams of signing Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante whilst Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul is on Inter’s radar but more for the Summer transfer window whilst Gomez could be an option for Inter.

The report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to imply that Inter could try and offer Vecino to Atalanta, a player whose characteristics appear to be ideal for Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini’s system.
