Noted Italian football journalist and known Inter fan Fabrizio Biasin has stated his belief that Inter must win the Serie A title this season.

Inter currently sit in second place in the Serie A standings after 11 games played and are trailing league leaders AC Milan by three points. Inter are not involved in European competition anymore and this has led to many media outlets and pundits sharing their belief that Inter are obligated to win the Serie A title.

“Inter are back to winning after a very heavy week. The victory against Cagliari is not one that can make them forget everything,” he explained in his latest editorial piece for Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

“We cannot think that the three points against Cagliari change the atmosphere, but we must start again from those.

He went on to add: “Inter must win the Scudetto, Conte knows it and the management expect it. The same management who asked the coach to use someone like Eriksen more. On Sunday he did it, we’ll see what happens against Napoli.”

Biasin then went on to share his views on Inter boss Antonio Conte showing that he does indeed have a plan B after he changed system in the win over Cagliari, which ultimately helped Inter to turn the match in their favour.

“The other day he proved that he is not uncompromising, even if only for having changed to a 4-3-1-2 during the match that overturned it.

“Will we it again? It is possible, but hardly going to happen from the start. As for the rest, the coach is asked for a few more smiles, it will not help to forget the European flop, but it can help the environment to regroup much more than the usual ‘search for the enemy’ on duty, which seems frankly useless at the moment.”

Biasin also touched upon the latest regarding Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez’s future with Atalanta, which is very much up in the air.

“It’s all very sad, silly and counterproductive. It is for the player who risks leaving the city that made him an icon and especially for Atalanta who have a player who cannot be found on the shelves of the discount store. Anyway it will end, keep an eye on AC Milan, but also Inter, nobody will question his professionalism.”
