Graziano Pelle could be an option for Inter as they look to recruit a player capable of playing the role of deputy to star striker Romelu Lukaku according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Pelle has spent the past few years playing in China with Shandong Luneng and he appear set to depart at the end of this month once his contract expires.

The Chinese government have imposed a cap on player salaries of 3 million gross a year, which is approximately 1.75 million net a year and as a result a mass exodus of high earning foreign players is foreseeable.

Pelle’s contract with Shandong Luneng is worth €15 million a year and whilst the club have offered him an extension, he is understood to be homesick and wanting a return to Italy, where he last played at club level in 2012.

The report goes on to state that Pelle has not forgotten Inter manager Antonio Conte for giving him his chance in the Italian national team and as it happens Conte’s Inter are looking for a vice-Lukaku at this moment. It now remains to be seen whether or not anything happens.
