Inter have made a first enquiry regarding Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez’s availability according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Relations appear to have broken down between the player and the Bergamo club and a number of clubs are said to be ready to take advantage of the situation with Inter one of them AC Milan have also made contact in recent days with via club director Paolo Maldini.

Last Summer the Argentine had a value of between €15-18 million but now his value is sitting at just €8-10 million. Atalanta and the player are to meet before Christmas to discuss the situation and in the event that the situation cannot be resolved, the report states that Inter and AC Milan are ready to take action.

There has currently been no contact with Atalanta and there will not be any until the player is put on the transfer market.

Papu Gomez loves Italy and in the event he is to leave Atalanta, he would like to continue playing in Italy. Inter and AC Milan would therefore be ideal solutions for the player to allow him to continue to play at a high level and remain involved in the national team.

Christian Eriksen leaving Inter could free up space for Gomez to come in. Inter are remaining vigilant and keeping an eye on the situation, ready to seize any opportunities that arise because Gomez would be a real bargain and his salary would be significantly less than that of Eriksen.
