Legendary Inter striker Alessandro Altobelli has expressed his belief that tonight’s Serie A match between Inter and Napoli will be one of the best to watch of all the Serie A matches being played.

“It will be one of the best matches to see. Is it a match that will determine the Scudetto? It’s a game that can bring you closer to AC Milan, let’s put it that way,” he began an interview with Italian daily newspaper Il Mattino, which appeared in today’s print edition.

“To date, the Rossoneri are the team to beat but it is such a strange league without fans that all the teams can have their say.

He then went on to discuss tonight’s match between second placed Inter and third placed Napoli further by explaining: “Tonight we will see a match between two teams that are coming into it during excellent moments.

“Inter may have found a turning point against Cagliari, Napoli satisfies me when they go on the pitch. What a pity for those points lost against Juve, they could make the difference.”

Altobelli, who is one of the greatest goal scorers in Inter’s 112 year history, then went on to speak about players who could make a difference in the match between the Nerazzurri and Partenopei at San Siro.

“Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez are problems for Napoli just like Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne are for Inter. Then there is Nicolò Barella and Piotr Zielinski.”

In conclusion Altobelli shared his opinions on the two managers, Antonio Conte and Gennaro Gattuso.

“They are two great coaches. Antonio Conte, despite what they say, is one of the best around and has such experience that he is prepared for matches like tonight’s. There is too much pressure on his team and this can be a problem.

“I’m happy for Gennaro Gattuso. He is finally proving that he is not just someone with character. He is a coach who studies, respects the team, knows how to read games and win them.”

Altobelli spent 11 years with Inter between 1977 and 1988 and scoring a highly impressive 209 goals in 465 games for the club, a goal tally bettered only by Giuseppe Meazza.
