Inter’s new main shirt sponsor will come from Asia according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Il Giorno.

Inter’s agreement with current main shirt sponsor Pirelli, who have the main shirt sponsor for over 20 years, is due to expire at the end of this season and will not be renewed.

Inter president Steven Zhang has spent almost all of 2020 in his native China due largely to the COVID-19 pandemic and he has used his time back in his homeland to look for new investors.

There are some ongoing negotiations but Suning do not just want to stop with them. The report adds that for the first time since 2018 it may be necessary for there to be an injection of fresh equity and the Zhang family have already made themselves available for this.

The report concludes that after this the situation with the new stadium will need to be defined with the new stadium being crucial for Inter’s fate.
