Former Inter defender turned football pundit Daniele ‘Lele’ Adani has shared his belief that Inter manager Antonio Conte’s decision to switch up to a 5-4-1 system in the latter stages of Wednesday night’s win at home to Napoli was not a decision that worked well.
Inter ran out narrow 1-0 winners over Napoli come the full time whistle thanks to a second half penalty from Romelu Lukaku but it was not easy for Inter to hold on.
Conte made a system change in an attempt to limit Napoli but as Adani pointed out, it did not work as Napoli were able to get multiple shots on goal that fortunately for Inter, club captain and number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic was equal to as he made several big stops to secure all three points for the Nerazzurri.
“It didn’t work at all because, in addition to not countering, Inter didn’t even manage to contain the opponent despite having all of their players back. In fact, Inter conceded four shots,” the words of the talent of Sky Sports during a live Twitch on the Christian channel Vieri .
Adani, who played for Inter between 2002 and 2004, remarked in an interview with the official Twitch channel of former Inter teammate Christian Vieri, earlier on today.
