Christian Eriksen will leave Inter in the January transfer window and he could make a return to the Premier League according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.it.

The Danish national team player, who has struggled to perform to expectations during his 11 months with Inter, could possibly end up at former club Tottenham Hotspur’s arch rivals Arsenal via a swap deal.

As per this report, Eriksen could potentially be swapped for Lucas Torreira. Torreira joined Atletico Madrid on loan for the season but could return to Arsenal in January having not played much in Madrid. A swap deal could be done with both players being valued at €30 million.

Inter landing Torreira would scupper the plans of city rivals AC Milan who have long wanted to sign the Uruguayan national team player.

The report concludes that it cannot be ruled out that Granit Xhaka could be offered to Inter by Arsenal with the Swiss national team player having fallen out of the club’s plans.
