Several clubs are keeping an eye on developments in the situation between Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez and Atalanta according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Gomez and Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini’s relations have broken down in recent weeks but this report claims that a truce is possible, although it is unlikely that this will see him see out the remainder of his contract with Atalanta, which expires at the end of the 2022/23 season.

The report goes on to add that Atalanta have absolutely no intention of letting the Argentine leave the club for free in January, even if it would allow them to make a saving of €10/11 million gross. The Bergamo based club do not want to strengthen one of the other top sides in Serie A, many of whom are keeping tabs on the situation.

AC Milan, Inter, Napoli, Roma and Lazio are all watching things from within Italy whilst Paris Saint-Germain are also understood to be taking note of the situation.
