Inter president Steven Zhang must avoid making a mistake in the January transfer window if he wants Inter to win the Serie A title this season according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.
Zhang must avoid thinking that this Inter team does not need reinforcements. The attack needs a reinforcement in the shape of a player who can play as the back-up to Romelu Lukaku whilst if Radja Nainggolan, Matias Vecino and Christian Eriksen all leave, a midfielder will be needed.
Inter are sitting just one point off of top spot after 12 games played and they owe that above all to goalkeeper and club captain Samir Handanovic for his heroics in the 1-0 win over Napoli a few days ago.
The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to insist that Handanovic making saves alone will not be enough to win Inter a first Serie A title since the 2009/10 season. Concrete help is required from president Zhang to take advantage of what is a golden opportunity.
