Inter and AC Milan are both among the clubs interested in signing Atalanta talisman Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez, but the Rossoneri have the advantage, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 32-year-old Argentine forward is set to leave the Bergamo based club after six years, having suffered a complete relationship breakdown with coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

Papu Gomez seems destined to leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window, with both Milanese clubs interested.

The player’s family have settled well in Bergamo and so he will try to stay in the surrounding area, giving both Milan clubs an advantage their competition.

The Rossoneri then hold a small advantage over the Nerazzurri, as they could look to include Gomez as part of an exchange deal involving Mattia Caldara.

Inter are still waiting to hear Atalanta’s price, but remain keenly interested.
