Inter coach Antonio Conte has found his strongest defense, who are now untouchable, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the trio of Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni are Conte’s best defensive line, helping the squad to keep a clean sheet and ensuring that mistakes at the back at significantly less common.

The trio have been consistently deployed together since the painful 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid at the end of last month and have played together since.

In that period, Inter conceded six goals, an average of 0.86 per match, whilst in the previous 11 matches the team had conceded 18 goals, with an average of 1.64 per game. Three clean sheets have been kept as well since that Real Madrid loss.

The stats clearly show a defensive improvement by the Nerazzurri, in part thanks to the consistently strong performances of the Slovakian, the Dutchman and the Italian.
