Inter winger Ivan Perisic could leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 31-year-old Croatian, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022, has been playing as a left wing back in coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system, but has not particularly impressed in the role.

After a bright start to the season, his quality has faded a little and Ashley Young has overtaken his spot in the regular starting 11.

Inter want to improve the left wing back role in January and so Perisic may leave in order to make space in the department.

Their top replacement would be Chelsea full back Emerson Palmieri, who the Blues will only let leave on a definitive deal, and not on loan.

Perisic has made 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 904 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided three assists.
