Inter are looking to fight with Barcelona for Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, according to a report from Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb earlier today.

The report details how the 30-year-old Dutchman’s contract expires with the reigning Premier League champions at the end of the season, meaning a departure in January is likely.

Inter are preparing to make Liverpool a €15 million offer for Wijnaldum, hoping to beat out the fierce competition for the player, which includes Catalan giants Barcelona.

Blaugrana coach Ronald Koeman is keen to bring the Dutchman to Catalonia and the player is currently evaluating the situation, with Inter remaining keen.

The 30-year-old Wijnaldum has made 21 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1620 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and helped the side keep eight clean sheets.

The Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their squad in the upcoming January transfer window, with other roles that need to be filled including left wing back and a backup striker.
