Italian journalist Andrea Di Caro discussed Inter’s midweek win over Napoli and their work in the league in an article in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Inter took advantage of the moment and luck. They have shown to be strong and to have great margins of improvement. This is why I prefer them to AC Milan. Inter in the most difficult moment of their season, they were on the brink of the precipice, in reality they recovered four points in two games from AC Milan.

“Napoli did better, but Inter won. Not yet brilliant, but they are one point behind Milan.

“They remain the favorites for the league title. If Conte is freed of some things that disturb him, such as a large squad and some players he cannot stand, he has only the league to play for and he has all the characteristics to reach the end.”

Conte’s Inter currently sit second in the Serie A table after 12 games with 27 points, only a single point behind intercity rivals and league leaders AC Milan.

Their next game is against newly promoted Spezia tomorrow afternoon, before facing Hellas Verona next week in their final game of the calendar year.

The Milanese club’s form has recovered domestically after an incredibly disappointing start to the season, that saw the club achieve multiple draws and drop out of the Champions League at the bottom of their group.

Conte will be hoping that the squad is strengthened in next month’s transfer window, helping him in the tough race for the league title against the Rossoneri and Juventus this season.
