Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan is set to leave the club in January, with a return to Cagliari likely, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 32-year-old Belgian midfielder was close to a move to the Rossoblu in the summer transfer window, but the Nerazzurri decided not to accept another loan deal, leaving him stuck in Milan.

The player tried to win a place in coach Antonio Conte’s squad, but a spark never developed between the pair and he has mostly remained absent since.

In January Cagliari will again look to sign Nainggolan, who performed incredibly well for the side whilst on loan last campaign.

Nainggolan is calm and trained with the squad yesterday, and could even join the bench for tomorrow afternoon’s league clash against Spezia.

This season, the 32-year-old Belgian has made five appearances across all competitions, for a total of 45 minutes.
