Former Lazio full back Giuseppe Pancaro discussed Inter’s midfield and their two most creative players, Stefano Sensi and Christian Eriksen, whilst speaking with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia yesterday.

“The feeling is that the creation of a formation using a trequartista was created specifically for Eriksen, to put him at ease, even if, in my opinion, he can also play as a mezzala.

“Sensi is a shame, he is not having much luck and at Inter he is now plagued by injuries. It is better to have a few more precautions to avoid relapses and then have him at 100%. He is someone who can give something different compared to other midfielders.”

The 25-year-old Sensi, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2024, has made seven appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 182 minutes.

The player’s season has been derailed by injuries, which have forced him to miss at least seven games across the league and Champions League.

Sensi started his career with Inter well last campaign, scoring three goals and providing four assists in his first six games under coach Antonio Conte.

The former Sassuolo man then suffered a tear in his abductor muscle in the 2-1 loss to Juventus, which forced him out of nine games.

He recovered, and then suffered from a variety of injuries including a biceps femoris muscle injury, a calf issue and a foot problem, which ended his debut season in Milan.
