Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio discussed the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash against newly promoted Spezia this afternoon in an interview with Italian broadcaster Inter TV, ahead of the match.

“We’re playing every three days like the other teams, we feel the same tiredness the others feel. We try to take the pitch every time we play, today we will try to do what we have done in the last period and bring home full points.”

He touched on the Ligurian side have a clear identity despite being newly promoted.

“I agree. Spezia are a young team but they have a clear identity. Last year they won the play-offs and this year they’ve had a good start to the season, without looking bad. It will be a complicated game.”

D’Ambrosio then touched on what kind of game he expects against Spezia.

“It will be a hard-fought game, especially at the start because they will be pressing and playing openly. We know their strengths and weaknesses.”

Finally, D’Ambrosio spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia before the game.

“It’s not an easy match, it depends on us and our approach and our chances. Spezia are not changing the system, they have a very precise idea of how to play football.

“We have to be alert to their game, but we know their flaws and we’ll try to catch them unprepared.”

The 32-year-old D’Ambrosio, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until the end of the season, has made 14 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 680 minutes.

In that time, he has scored three goals and helped the side keep four clean sheets.

Spezia are currently 16th in the Serie A table after 12 games, sitting on 11 points. They haven’t achieved a win in their last five games, experiencing a rough start to the Italian topflight.

Inter, on the other hand, are second in the league table, only one point behind rivals and league leaders AC Milan. The Nerazzurri will be looking for the full three points in order to keep up the pressure on the Rossoneri, who play Sassuolo today.
