Inter wing back Achraf Hakimi discussed the Nerazzurri’s enjoyable 2-1 win over Spezia this afternoon in an interview with Italian broadcaster Inter TV after the game.

“Happy with the win and for scoring another goal. I work to help the team and to improve. I’m happy for this goal but above all for the team’s result.”

He commented on how the Milanese side’s win over the Ligurian club is their sixth consecutive win in Serie A.

“We are happy with what we are doing, it is very important for us. It’s very important to arrive at Christmas with good feelings and the truth is that we have to continue like this.”

The 22-year-old Moroccan explained his mobile phone celebration.

“It’s a little game that I addressed to my friends as a tribute to a singer who sings a song called ‘Motorola’.”

Finally, Hakimi spoke about the team’s improvements over the first half of this campaign.

“Yes, we are improving and it will be important to win the last game of the year as well. For me there has been a moment of adaptation to Italian football but I’m doing what the coach and the team ask me to do.

“I’m improving and you can see it on the pitch.”

The 22-year-old Hakimi, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2025, has made 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1062 minutes.

In that time, he has scored four goals and provided four assists, showing strong attacking qualities, even if his current defensive work requires a little improvement.

The Nerazzurri’s win over Spezia is important as it keeps Antonio Conte’s side close behind league leaders and intercity rivals AC Milan, who also won today against Sassuolo.

Inter’s next game is against Ivan Juric’s Hellas Verona next week, before they depart for the Christmas break. Their first game of the new year is against Crotone on the 3rd January.
