Former Juventus midfielder Giancarlo Marocchi discussed Inter’s important 2-1 Serie A win over Spezia yesterday in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia after the game.

“You see Inter in the league and you know they’ll win the game. You can go a bit slower.

“But every now and then, one of the centre-backs could come out a bit quicker. Sometimes I think the defenders are a bit timid.”

Inter are currently second in the league table after 13 games, sitting on 30 points, one behind rivals and league leaders AC Milan, who beat Sassuolo yesterday afternoon.

Antonio Conte’s side will face Ivan Juric’s Hellas Verona this week on Wednesday, the Nerazzurri’s final game of the 2020 year.

The Milanese club will be looking for another three points against the Gialloblu as they look to keep up the pressure on the Rossoneri.

Rivals Juventus are also close behind, only three points behind Inter. The two teams will met on the 17th January, in what will be one of the most important games of the season.

The Milanese club have a slight advantage this campaign as they are no longer competing in Europe, after finishing bottom of their Champions League Group.
