Inter manager Antonio Conte has given the go ahead for Inter to try and bring in Atalanta’s Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez according to a report from Italian news outlet PassioneInter.com.
Gomez appears destined to leave his current employers in next month’s transfer window following a seemingly irreparable breakdown in relations and Inter are one of several clubs understood to be on the trail of the 32-year-old Argentine attacker.
The former Catania player has been excluded from the Atalanta squad for their next match and this is now the second game in a row that Gian Piero Gasperini has not called Gomez into the squad. Inter are observing the situation and waiting for the right opportunity.
Gomez, who is under contract with the Bergamo based club until the end of next season, has made a total of 16 appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which he has scored five goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
