Radja Nainggolan wants to make a return to Cagliari and Inter intend to satisfy him according to a report from Italin news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

As per this report, after failing to agree terms over a permanent move for Nainggolan last Summer following his loan spell in Sardinia, the two clubs will meet again for talks over the out of favour former Belgian national team central midfielder.

Inter have been on the lookout for a back-up for star striker Romelu Lukaku for some time and Cagliari have Leonardo Pavoletti on their books.

The report goes on to suggest that the two club could conduct a loan swap deal involving Nainggolan and Pavoletti for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.

This season Nainggolan has been limited to just five substitute appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has failed to make any goal contributions.

Former Napoli striker Pavoletti has meanwhile made 13 appearances and scored one goal and provided a single assist.
