Inter manager Antonio Conte wants a new left wing-back signed in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was broadcast a short time ago.

The former Italian national team boss has long wanted one of Emerson Palmieri or Marcos Alonso, both of whom are out of favour at his former employers Chelsea.

However, in order to be able to try and bring in either the Italian or Spaniard to bolster his squad, the report from Sport Mediaset insists that it is necessary for Inter to sell Ivan Perisic, who Conte has tried to convert into a left wing-back this term. Selling Perisic at this moment is however complicated.

In a recent interview, Emerson Palmieri’s agent Fernando Garcia admitted to being unsure about whether his client would leave the Premier League outfit next month and also confirmed that he has had no contact with Inter over a potential move.
