Inter have already shown an interest and have tested the water with the representatives of Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

The Dutchman’s current contract with the reigning Premier League champions is due to expire at the end of this season and he is far away from renewing his contract with the Merseyside club.

In the Summer he was close to joining Barcelona but Barcelona are currently dealing with a real crisis on a corporate level and it is therefore unlikely that they will be able to do big deals and sign players to big contracts.

The report goes on to explain that former Newcastle United player Wijnaldum will ask for a four year contract with a top salary attached and if Inter are to offload Christian Eriksen next month, it could perhaps free up space on the club’s wage bill for Wijnaldum, who has been with Liverpool since 2016.
