Legendary former Inter striker has praised Inter for being just a point off of top spot despite not having played all that great as of late whilst pointing out Napoli have not been as fortunate as Inter when it comes to picking up results when playing badly.

Inter are on a run of six consecutive wins in Serie A at this moment in time and some of these wins have been achieved despite Inter not playing well and in some cases having to come from behind in order to pick up all three points.

Napoli have meanwhile lost both of their last fixtures, one of which was the 1-0 loss away to Inter earlier on this month.

“If I think of Inter, the Nerazzurri do not play spectacular football and yet they are only point off the top, if Napoli do not play well they do not win,” he explained as part of an interview with Italian broadcaster Canale 21, which took place yesterday afternoon.

Altobelli spent 11 years with Inter between 1977 and 1988 and is one of the club’s greatest ever goal scorers. He scored 209 goals in 465 appearances across all competitions for the club.
