Inter’s strategy for the January transfer window is to sell before they buy in order to raise funds that can be reinvested into completing the squad according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Libero.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio are already working on the sales front. Christian Eriksen, Radja Nainggolan, Ivan Perisic and Andrea Pinamonti are all likely to leave, and their departures will allow Inter to make a gross saving of €16 million for the next six months.

Inter manager Antonio Conte wants a back-up to Romelu Lukaku signed, a box-to-box midfielder and in the event Perisic does depart he will also want a left wing-back more suitable for his system.

Olivier Giroud is Conte’s dream for the attack, Rodrigo de Paul has long been liked for the midfield whilst Marcos Alonso could be the left wing-back.

The report goes on to explain that a return to Cagliari is looming for Nainggolan. Perisic meanwhile has interest in his services from the Premier League and Bundesliga.

When it comes to Christian Eriksen, Inter’s owners Suning would like €25-30 million but at this stage it seems difficult for this to happen. Pinamonti will meanwhile be sent out on loan to get more playing time, he could possibly go to Parma who previously showed an interest.
