Noted Italian football journalist Fabrizio Biasin has stressed that it does not matter how Inter are winning matches but what matters is that they are winning matches.
“Inter play ugly but win and after being knocked out of Europe that is definitely what matters. They have six consecutive wins in the league, all very Conte-esque,” he explained in his latest editorial piece for Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.
The known Inter fan then touched on each of Inter’s last two matches and what they can do if they take on Inter manager Antonio Conte’s spirit.
“Against Napoli, a dose of the most important component in every field of life was needed, against Spezia a flash of the Lautaro-Hakimi tandem was enough.
“It goes like this, take it or leave it. Inter can win if they assimilate the spirit of their coach 100% and their coach demands concreteness and few frills.”
He then spoke about Inter’s lack of creativity and the recent return of Stefano Sensi, who had had a difficult past 14 months with him having had to deal with injury after injury.
“Well, maybe it is legitimate to ask for a little more imagination, which will not come from Eriksen. It was sad to see him training alone on the San Siro pitch but at least Conte can have Sensi. After all, Conte’s best Inter was the one seen a year and a half ago, with the former Sassuolo giving a lot of sparkle.”
Biasin then went on to discuss Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez’s future at Atalanta which is very much up in the air at this very moment.
“Everyone is wondering, where will Papu Gomez go to play? Last week we mentioned Inter and AC Milan, but not because we knew anything, we went according to logic. In Bergamo they do not intend to make discounts.
“We will see who offers more and certainly the Milanese clubs do not want to spend more than a handful of millions. Ergo, maybe in the end he stays in Bergamo.”
In conclusion he spoke on who could arrive at Inter during the January transfer window and he revealed that Inter are in talks with a club over a player.
“Many wonder, who will arrive? Papu can be an option, Inter will only spend in the event of sales. The exception? Rodrigo de Paul. Inter wants him, Conte wants him, the club talks, and a lot, with Udinese.”
