Inter and Cagliari could carry out a swap deal between themselves in next month’s transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

As per this report, if Cagliari come back in for Radja Nainggolan, then a swap deal involving Nainggolan and Leonardo Pavoletti will be evaluated.

By acquiring Pavoletti, Inter would bring in a striker, which is one of their priorities in the January transfer window alongside a new midfielder.

It will not be an easy transfer market for Inter, or any club for that matter, given the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on finances in football.

Inter will therefore have to work with ingenuity in order to sort the squad out as they look to win a first trophy since 2011. Before buying anyone though, Inter must sell and Christian Eriksen is one of the main suspects to be sold.
