Signing Alessandro Bastoni to a new contract in the new year is a priority for Inter according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The highly rated Italian national team defender is a fundamental player in Inter manager Antonio Conte’s side and Inter have been working on a new contract for some time.

There is however no rush or any form of anxiety because the former Atalanta player is already under contract with the club until 2023 and the player is also delighted with how things are going at the Nerazzurri, who he joined back in the Summer of 2017 from Atalanta.

The report goes on to explain that more than one top European club has shown an interest in signing Bastoni but Inter have no intention of listening to any offers for him.

Inter’s intention is to sign Bastoni to a new contract until the end of the 2024/25 season and as part of the new deal he will receive a significant raise on his current €1.5 million a year salary.
