Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has shared his delight after Inter’s seventh straight win in Serie A which came away to Hellas Verona.

Lautaro opened the scoring for Inter and soon after Ivan Ilic drew Hellas Verona level. Soon after that though Milan Skriniar scored a header and that proved to be the winner for Antonio Conte’s side.

“We faced a tough, tough team. We are happy, we ran a lot and never gave up. In the first half we did very well, then in the second half we showed a lot of nastiness and determination and were a team,” he explained to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, following the match at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

Lautaro, who has been with Inter since the Summer of 2018, was then asked about Inter’s chances of winning the Serie A title.

“The Scudetto? I came here to win something with Inter and there is this opportunity. We work every day to stay up there, then there are some tough matches like this in which you have to give more and today we did and got three points.”

The highly rated 23-year-old Argentine national team player then spoke on his relationship with strike partner Romelu Lukaku and the importance of winning matches.

“Me and Lukaku? From day one, we talked. He is a good boy, on and off the pitch. The important thing is that Inter win, then we are all happy. We must do the best for the team.”

In conclusion he dedicated his goal, which was the first goal he scored after a goal drought of eight matches.

“I dedicated this goal to my family who came here for the holidays and to my girlfriend who is pregnant.”

This season Lautaro has made 20 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored seven goals and provided five assists for his teammates.
