Atalanta’s Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez would be perfect for Inter if they continue to play with the same system that they did last night versus Hellas Verona according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttopsort.

The 32-year-old Argentine is largely expected to leave the Bergamo based club next month following a breakdown in relations between himself and Atalanta coach Gianpiero Gasperini.

Inter started out with a 3-4-3 system opposed to their tried and tested 3-5-2 system at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi, where they came away from with a 2-1 win.

During the first half Inter coach Antonio Conte opted to match the 3-4-2-1 system Ivan Juric’s Hellas Verona were using and Gomez would be ideal for one of the two spots in behind Romelu Lukaku.

This season Gomez, who has also been linked with AC Milan among many other clubs, has made 16 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored five goals and tallied four assists.
