Cagliari sporting director Pierluigi Carta has sang the praises of Inter central midfielder Radja Nainggolan, who continue to be linked with a potential return to the Sardinia based club ahead of next month’s January transfer window.

Nainggolan spent the duration of last season out on loan at Cagliari and has also had a permanent spell with them in the past too.

Since returning to Inter in the Summer, Nainggolan has found it hard to nail down a place in the Inter team and is very much out of favour.

The former Belgian national team player has made five appearances across all competitions to date this term with all five of them coming as a substitute. He has not scored any goals or provided any assists in his 45 minutes on the park.

“We have set the date of January 3 to make a little mini balance of necessary income and expenses. Nainggolan is an important player, who suits many teams,” he explained in an interview with sports broadcaster DAZN, late last night.

He then went on to add: “For us he is also linked by a question of identity, not only for a technical-tactical reasons but to make a deal, you need the ok from all parties and not just one.”
