Italian Media Critical Of Inter Captain Samir Handanovic For Mistake Against Hellas Verona

Inter club captain and number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic was Inter’s worst performing player in last night’s 2-1 win away to Hellas Verona according to the player ratings published in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Slovenian shot-stopper made a glaring error in the match as he dropped a cross right at the feet of Ivan Ilic, who capitalised and brought the hosts level.

Fortunately for him, his mistake did not cost Inter any points in the end as Milan Skriniar gave Inter the lead again soon after but this did not stop him from being rated 4/10.

The best players for Inter were Lautaro Martinez, Skriniar and Achraf Hakimi, all of whom were given ratings of 7/10 for their effort at the Stadio Marc’Antoni Bentegodi.

Romelu Lukaku’s performance was rated 6.5/10 whilst Stefan de Vrij, Marcelo Brozovic, Alessandro Bastoni, Nicolo Barella, Ashley Young and Arturo Vidal were all given ratings of 6/10. Ivan Perisic was rated 5/10 whilst late substitute Roberto Gagliardini did not receieve a rating.
