Noted Italian football journalist has sang the praises of Inter off the back of their latest win in Serie A which came last night away to Hellas Verona.
Inter ran out 2-1 winners away to the Gialloblu club thanks to goals from Lautaro Martinez and Milan Skriniar and this was in fact the seventh Serie A match in a row that Antonio Conte’s side were the winners.
Inter are still sitting in second place in Serie A despite their recent winning run. They are sitting one point behind city rivals AC Milan, who won late on against Lazio to keep themselves in top spot.
“At these levels they have no opposition because they always score goals. Given their continuity and potential Inter are the true benchmark in the league,” Sconcerti began his latest column for Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera, which appeared in yesterday’s print edition of the Milanese news outlet.
Sconcerti then went on to highlight what he feels has changed with Inter manager Antonio Conte this season and how this has helped the team this term.
“This year Conte does not stand out as a game inventor, but as a manager. He has built a team that is like an ocean liner, when he is at sea the owner can only listen to him on the phone. But the ship goes, Inter are finally free, they have found the results, they no longer need to be marked by their coach. “
