Atalanta are hoping to fix their relationship with talismanic forward Papu Gomez, with Inter interested in acquiring the player, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.

The report details how the tension between Gomez, coach Gian Piero Gasperini and the club’s management has cooled recently, with the Bergamo based club hoping to mend the rift between the Argentinian and the club.

It still seems likely that Papu Gomez will leave the club next month, with both Inter and AC Milan interested as the 32-year-old hopes to stay near Bergamo, where his family have settled.

In the summer transfer window, the former Catania man declined an offer from Al-Nassr, who offered him a two-year contract worth €6 million per season.

He will cost around €8-12 million and the Nerazzurri are patiently waiting to see his cost before moving forward.

Gomez has scored five goals and provided four assists in 16 appearances this campaign.
