Former Inter defender Nicolas Burdisso spoke about Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez, who has previously been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri, in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster TMW Radio earlier today.

“I had no doubt he could do so well. What is surprising me is his ability to do well in many roles.”

He thought that the Nerazzurri would be the perfect destination for the 24-year-old Uruguayan midfielder.

“Conte’s Inter would be perfect for him, he has the same determination as his coach.

“He could also be very useful at Roma and Napoli, but for the intensity he brings to every game, in my opinion, he would be perfect even in the Premier League.”

The 24-year-old Nandez, who is contracted to Cagliari until 2024, has made 12 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 947 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and provided one assist.

The Uruguayan midfielder has played in a variety of roles for the Rossoblu this campaign, featuring as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder, right midfielder and right winger.

Last season, Nandez made 38 appearances across Serie A and the Coppa Italia, playing 3001 minutes. He scored two goals and provided four assists in that period.

Inter are looking to sign a new midfielder in the upcoming January transfer window, with Christian Eriksen and Radja Nainggolan both set to leave.
