Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s agent Beto Yaque discussed the player’s future and the situation surrounding Barcelona in an interview with Argentinian newspaper Ole earlier today.

First, he spoke about if the player will be heading to the Blaugrana.

“Today he is fine where he is. Obviously, he is growing and learning. He is a boy with enormous potential, without limits, who can become an elite player. Today the truth is that the most important thing is that he got used to European football very quickly.

“He arrived and started playing almost automatically. And when he came in, he scored goals. So, people could see his talents. Because of what he put on the pitch he made people love him and that was good because he tried to continue to prove himself.”

He highlighted how the 23-year-old Argentine forward is happy in Milan with the Nerazzurri.

“He has another three years on his contract. Whoever wants to sign him must come to an agreement with Inter, but he’s calm and happy there. He plays and grows.”

The agent touched on where Lautaro got his nickname, ‘Toro’.

“No, they gave him that nickname at Racing. Before he was simply Lauti.”

Finally, Beto Yaque spoke about how it feels to manage a player like Lautaro.

“He makes you learn. You grow up all of a sudden, a bit like what happened to him. You start talking to managers of small clubs, those of the youth teams, then I started talking to Blanco and then I talked to the directors of the most important teams in the world.

“I didn’t imagine that. I have an important relationship with him, like a father and son. And that’s what I like most. We’ve been close even in the most difficult moments.”

The 23-year-old Lautaro, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, has made 20 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1322 minutes.

In that time, he has scored seven goals and provided five assists, suffering from slight periods of inconsistency.

He has hit a goal drought twice this campaign, the first time for five games and the second for eight, although his goal against Hellas Verona earlier this week broke the second one.
