Napoli are interested in Inter linked Emerson Palmieri and are considering a January transfer for the Italian full back, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier today.

The report details how the Partenopei are looking for a new full back and alternative to Faouzi Ghoulam and Mario Rui, who both have uncertain futures in the capital of Campagna.

The 26-year-old Emerson, who is contracted to the Blues until 2022, has hardly featured this campaign under coach Frank Lampard and is likely to leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window, after a failed move away this summer.

Inter have been interested in signing Emerson for some time now, with coach Antonio Conte a fan of the former Roma man, who himself is interested in a return to Serie A.

Emerson has made eight appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 418 minutes.

He has featured significantly more in the Champions League than the Premier League or Carabao Cup this campaign.
