Parma coach Fabio Liverani discussed the club’s need to sign forwards and Ivorian Gervinho in an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN a few days ago. His words were collected by FcInterNews.

“The problem is not the individuals, but the team that is unable to support them. Cornelius and Inglese are not at 150% for different reasons, certainly this busy schedule does not allow them to be brilliant. We have to do something in the market.

“I have no worries, I have a great relationship with the management and the owners who know what it takes to stay in Serie A.

“We need to improve this team numerically, especially up front, we need players who are ready.”

Inter are interested in signing the 33-year-old Gervinho, who is contracted to the Emilian club until 2022, has made 12 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 943 minutes. In that time, he has scored four goals and provided one assist.

Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte is not a fan of 21-year-old Italian forward Andrea Pinamonti and has hardly deployed him this campaign.

A possible loan exchange could be on the cards between Pinamonti and Gervinho, with the deal seemingly benefitting both parties.

The Milanese club need a fourth striker and other options include Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud, who will be hard to pry away from London, and Udinese’s Kevin Lasagna, as the coach wants an experienced player for the final six months of the season.
