AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic discussed some of the best players he played alongside during his career in an interview in today’s print edition of the Italian sports magazine Sportweek.

One of the players the Swedish striker talked about was former Inter full back Maicon.

“When he arrived, he wasn’t considered as strong as he became at Inter, three very good years.”

He then moved onto discussing his idols, which included another former Inter player, legendary Brazilian forward Ronaldo.

“Ronaldo the Fenomeno is my idol. And Maradona, because he is the best of all time. Yes, he was better than me too. I’m a coach this time, and who knows if I will be one day.”

The 39-year-old Ibrahimovic, who is contracted to the Rossoneri until the end of the season, has made 10 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 792 minutes. In that time, he has scored 11 goals and provided two assists, being a central part of Stefano Pioli’s side.

His presence has helped AC Milan rise to the top of the league table after 14 games, sitting on 34 points, one ahead of intercity rivals Inter.

Pioli’s team won the first Milanese derby of the season, and considering how close the league table is, the next one could be the title deciding game.
